Surrey Youth Focus has a major role as the voice of the voluntary youth sector in Surrey.
There are around 245,000 children and young people in Surrey aged between 0-19, and they do brilliant things! They achieve high standards academically, are active socially in groups such as Surrey Scouts (12,000) and Surrey Guides (14,000), and in voluntary work and community activities. The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme in Surrey is the largest in the country.
Every year we celebrate the achievements of young people in our member organisations through our Celebration of Youth.
It is also true that some young people find life difficult, and are at risk of being at the margins of family and community life. Many of our member charities work to help these young people at risk.
Surrey Youth Focus tries to strike a balance in its work to support its mainstream members like the uniformed organisations, and also to assist those specialist charities working with high need young people.
