7th Dec 2009 - Surrey Youth Opportunity Fund

Funding still available 2009/10

The Surrey Youth Opportunity Fund & Youth Capital Fund, currently in the fourth year of operation, empower young people to have greater choice and influence over the provision and facilities in their own neighbourhood or chosen community.  Launched in 2006, the funds have given out grants to over 600 projects in the County.

There is still funding available for 2009/10. 

Young people can apply for funding which can make a difference in achieving one or more of the following criteria:
• Increase “things to do and places to go” for themselves, their peers and others
• Stay Safe
• Be Healthy
• Enjoy & Achieve
• Make a positive contribution
• Improve economic well being

Young people can apply to their Borough Youth Award Panel for a YOF and/or YCF grant if they wish to set up and develop a Project in their neighbourhood or chosen community.
