8th Feb 2010 - Surrey Youth Focus

Funding bid successful.

Surrey Youth Focus has been part of a consortium with partners in East and West Sussex that has put in a successful bid to the CWDC to fund:

30 Advanced Apprenticeships, 25 Youth Work Foundation degree places at Brighton University, and 6 post graduate places at Brunel University.

Surrey Youth Focus is leading in organizing recruits, through Member organizations to the postgrad Youth Work course at Brunel. Each placement is worth around £21,000 covering course fees (£3,800) and the costs of part time employment (£18,700). The condition is that the undergrad. and post grad places must all add to the number of new youth workers. Further details will be available in early March. These opportunities are shared across several agencies but this is very good news for the youth work sector in Surrey and Sussex a whole.
