Providing direct services

Advice & support: Funding advice, Health & Safety advice, Facilitating CRB checks, Setting up social networks (Twitter/Facebook), Setting up websites with existing CMS systems available, Archiving service, Advice on governance, Advice on Quality standards - Pqasso, Advice on assessing Impact

Youth work development: Catalyst in setting up youth clubs, Advice pack on how to set up youth clubs, Provision of common induction course and workbook

Enabling Services

Communication: Website, fortnightly e-bulletin, Twitter/Facebook/blog,

Promotional: Surrey Youth News, Annual Celebration of Youth event

Brokerage: Volunteering; providing opportunities through doyouthwork.com in partnership with others and Capacity Building; brokerage of social impact bond funded projects, and instrumental in setting up a social enterprise and Surrey Youth Enterprises website

Advocacy & Representation

Lobbying & representing:

Influencing about the voluntary youth agenda at local, regional and national level through South-east Youth Partnership (Chairman) and NCVYS.

Responding to formal consultations from Surrey County Council and other statutory bodies.

External monitoring:

Twice yearly intelligence reports, identifying and advising on youth work policies, trends, and issues both nationally and in Surrey, and for groups of member organisations; current focus on 'The Big Society'.
