Buckland is an attractive village parish recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086. The Parish boundary is 2 miles from north to south, and about 1.5 miles east to west (Map). Buckland is the eastern most parish in Mole Valley with around 250 homes and a population of c.600.

The aim of the charity is to offer short breaks to disadvantaged children who would otherwise not have the opportunity to enjoy the open spaces that the local surroundings can offer them.

Safeguarding the future. The Surrey Hills Trust Fund has been established to safeguard the future of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

YHA Holmbury St Mary Surrey Hills stands in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the very edge of 4,000 acres of open access countryside and woodland.

Campsites, Hostels & Activity Centres

Open to Scouts, Guides, Schools, Youth Clubs, Church Groups, Boys’ Brigade, Army Cadets etc. Adjacent to 4000 acres of Hurtwood woodland.

Single campsite, 2 acres, part woodland with volunteer off-site warden.  Accepts Scouts and other Youth Groups.

Epsom & Ewell & Leatherhead Scout Districts. Woodland campsite on edge of Headley Heath. Accepts Scouts / Guides / Schools on Dof E. Volunteer Duty Warden on site at weekends.

A small (5 acres approx) activity site in woodland which may be used for overnight camping for Scouts / Guides / D of E / ATC etc. No facilities and adjacent to motorway and the Bourne River. (Can be very noisy due to M3 motorway.) Note: public footpath through site.

Faurefold Holiday and Campsite, Westcott.

Unmanned campsite in rural settng. Accepts Scouts / Guides / Schools / D of E only.

An unmanned campsite set in 2 acres with two fields and woodland. Volunteer wardens on duty during weekends. Accepts Scouts / Guides / D of E / church groups and other youth groups.

An unmanned campsite set in 23 acres with two fields and woodland. Volunteer wardens on duty during weekends. Accepts Scouts / Guides / D of E / church groups and other youth groups.

Unmanned campsite in rural setting. Accepts Scouts / Guides / D of E

A simple but pretty camp site set on North Downs / Pilgrims Way with small field approx 1.5 + 6 acres woodland. Will accept Scouts / Guides / D of E / youth groups. No electricity on site.

Sayers Croft is a beautiful, safe and secure site with 56 acres of woodlands, meadows, ponds and fields. We run programmes for youth organisations such as Scouts, Brigades and Guides, religious, community and counselling groups and youth awards such as Duke of Edinburgh and John Muir Award

In 4,000 acres of woodland in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this cosy hostel with small rooms enjoys quiet surroundings and is ideally suited as a base to explore the Surrey Hills or walk the North Downs Way and Greensand Way.

SOLD - (Surrey Outdoor Learning & Development) can offer youth groups and schools the chance to experience journeying in a purpose built, fully accessible canal boat, along the Wey Navigation.

Henley Fort is a unique space for learning and self-discovery in the natural environment.

High Ashurst is a wonderful wide-open space for learning and self-discovery in the natural environment and we specialise in tailor made programmes in adventurous activities and environmental projects.

Surrey Outdoor Learning & Development has extensive facilities available for young people including residential and camping centres.

Thames Young Mariners looks out across a placid 10-acre lake that adjoins the River Thames as it snakes its way through Richmond towards London.

Enjoyment & Achievement

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award aims to provide an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme of personal development for people aged 14 to 25 which is of the highest quality and the widest reach.

Educational and team-building days out for small groups of young people are among a range activities based on the Surrey Care Trust’s Swingbridge community boats.
